You are a space alien who travels through galaxies. Collect all yellow stars to enter portals and proceed to the next level. Use arrow or WASD keys to move. The alien has only one life, so be careful of planet explosions. Press Space to restart.

At the start, I thought it is like a football game, you have to shot the planet into the gate. But I figured it out finally by just going through the scene. It's simple than I thought about. I really like the nice animations in the scene. The reset button is missing, I have to refresh to restart the game.

Amazing aesthetics! Love all the character/set/music assets.

Some things that came up:

1. I wish the player didn't change, b/c I want it to be a journey for me as an alien going through space. When I got to the next level, I was looking for my character, and took me a sec to figure out that the green alien is suddenly myself now.

2. I thought it would be cool since planets can be pushed around, if the player needs to push and get the planet balls into the space portal to get to the next scene.

Good work! :)

The game is so thoughtfully designed as an experience. I appreciate your attention to the music, the floating objects and even the little twinkling stars in the background. I read your log and I had similar problem with DoNotDestroyOnLoad. I ended up referring to this YouTube tutorial's sample code, which takes into account reloading the start scene and avoids repeatedly creating the same game object.

Hope this is helpful!

Thank you Jasmin! This is very helpful!

the audio you chose is really nice and is perfect for a cute little game like yours! and i really enjoyed the style of your character. i also noticed that the character changes a little bit each time i enter a new door, brilliant! one thing i could suggest is to differentiate the background and the yellow stars a bit more to make it more obvious which ones are expected to be collected.

I love the overall atmosphere! I agree with others that it's amazing how you assemble assets from different sources and still give them a consistent style (usually it'll be a total mess for me!).  Not only the sound and visual, but also how you set the speed and inertia parameters so that things float slowly in the space.

To be honest I didn't read your hint carefully and I headed to the most recognisable item, the planets. But I soon realised that I could only move them awkwardly. Maybe you'd want to attach more functionality on the planets, or leave them there as easter eggs?

P.S. I resonate with the problem of DoNotDestroyOnLoad. I really wish I know how to destroy some of them when I need :)

I think the sound and the visual are very attractive. I am a little bit confuse when I first enter the game because I didn't read the instruction of the game. I am trying to push the ball into the hole at the beginning. Also after I dead from the level 3 I am not able to restart the game. So my suggestion will be 1. try to complete the game loop. 2 maybe add a boarder to the game that can limit the players movement. Finally! I really like your game animation.

The sound and the gameplay is very soothing. I think without adding any static obstacle makes players feel like they are actually soaring in the space. The animation, character, and texture you created are fantastic, and they go well together. I would encourage you to add scenes with different environments or spaces, making the game more interesting to play! Like traveling in different galaxies.

I also love how the sound and visual go so well together, and I think you did a good job with creating all the game elements.  Game characters in different scenes are too cute:) The only thing I will suggest is to add a restart or back button on the "you die" page.

I really like the concept consistency of your game! The sounds and visuals all work together to create an intriguing space-game experience. Maybe including the "Press space to restart" text within the game could make it even better! Otherwise awesome game!

It very nice reading the process and see how you handle yourself through the making of this game. I also agree that the graphic fits very well alone each other. The game function is easy to get and play with, beside what you mentioned about adding more stuff and levels up,I would say it could also have some simple animations, like making the ‘hole’ spin so that it can lead to a stronger universe feeling :)

I like the atmosphere you set up for this game! The music and graphics fit with the context of this game very well. I missed your instruction and thought all the planets are dangerous at level 1. After I realize they are all friendly, I rushed right into an exploding planet! However, I think the process of figuring out which planet is dangerous is fun. I also enjoy seeing the alien upgrading from a one-eye to a  two-eyes creature.
